Damian,

thank you for sharing this experience, it is really touching. It is interesting how some unknown people come in our lives and both of us benefit from it. Thank you for showing how compassionate we can be.

What a beautiful story about friendship. You have inspired me to write my own stories about the most infuencial people in my life. When I get them down on paper, I will be sure to send my readers to this website. I just recently found your site. Thanks for sharing your talent with words. Thanks for sharing what it means to be a real friend. I have been blessed by all of my friendships and the lessons that I have learned from each. Blessings, Patricia

Another transformative story, capable of change in the telling as much as it actually involved change at the time the events took place. Thank you.

People, gay, straight, whatever, often don't know to handle genuine love being given to them when it is so debased in our society and belittled. What passes for love is often temporary interest only, agape and eros being often confused. Nothing wrong with either in balance, of course.

This story dug deep into my soul and sits there now. I am going to go for a long walk and contemplate everything I'm gleaning from it. x

It’s quite amazing when we attempt to plan our lives
and along comes what seems like a chance meeting
and IT changes everything.

But then again, maybe this man and you
planned ahead of time for your life meeting.
Perhaps your extended family were all in
on it too. :)

Thank you for the wonderful post.

Stunning story again Damian. The new site is spectacular, and the first post cements your gift of sharing and BEing the change.

I have tingles all over from reading this...

You have a powerful, yet understated way of telling stories that imbues them with much magic.

I am so looking forward to seeing how this new site develops, and proud to be on your blogroll.

Many blessing and much love,
KL

What a powerful story. I have not much to say but that simply that this touched me very deeply.

I have a friend who is mentally handicapped. She thought she was useless to soceity. Everyone always made fun of her and called her derogratory names because of her disability. I became her best friend and mentor. When I first knew her she could not count money or add and subtract. She actually had a diploma from high school but was unable to function. I did not settle for this. I took my time and never pointed out her disability. She found out she could learn. It may take longer but with the patience of a good friend, I showed her a new world that was not neagative and frightening but full of hope and promise. Though we live many miles from one another we still call and she even has learned to write and is e-mailing me! She means the world to me. She taught me even more than I taught her. The lesson: That there are no limitations when it comes to the human spirit. :o)

Peace, love and light.
